FairyLoot February Unboxing: Twisted Tales

FairyLoot February Unboxing: Twisted Tales

Another month, another book box! Sil already wrote about Owlcrate yesterday (which coincidentally contains the same book as the Fairyloot box). Today I am going to show you the content of the Fairyloot February box. The theme this month was Twisted Tales and centered around dark Fairy tales. I love Fairy tales. Ever since I was a child I was obsessed with them. As I got older, I was also interested in the real fairy tales. Dark fairy tales are my forte. The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter is a must-read for everybody. But is the Fairyloot box any good this month? Let’s find out!

The first item in the box is a mug with pretty artwork. The box definitely appears to have a Red Riding Hood theme going on. I think the mug looks pretty and this is definitely my favourite item. What can I say, I am a sucker for pretty mugs.

Bath salt

The second item in the box is this package of bath salt with the ominous name poisonous. I don’t have a bath myself so I am not going to be able to use it any time soon. However, the bath salt looks amazing with the vibrant colour. I also love the label. I’m sure if Snow White had seen this apple, she wouldn’t even have thought about trying it.

Next up is a candle by Wickland Fable. It is an interesting smell and it took some time for me to get used to it, but I think it will smell good when I light it.

Who loves socks? Well I certainly do. In fact, I am a sucker for socks with a special pattern, even though it’s been a while since I found a matching pair. This one is adorable with the Witch and the Ginger bread house as a theme. I hope they’ll fit at least!

Bookmark and Book

Last up is a beautiful wooden bookmark of Red Riding Hood and a wolf. I love the artwork and am definitely going to use it. The book this month is The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert. I already guessed it was going to be this book. Sadly the same book was in this month’s Owlcrate, for those of you who are subscribed to both boxes. The book has got mixed reviews, but I am going to read it anyway. Naturally you will read all about my opinion once I’ve finished reading it.

So that was this month’s Fairyloot. Did you enjoy it? Personally I prefer the January box over this one, but hey, you can’t always have the best stuff. And still this box was pretty good. Are you subscribed to a book box? Let us know!
