Fantastic Beasts – A Case of Beasts review

As you may know if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, Fantastic Beasts was one of my favourite films of last year. Partly because I am still in denial that my Hogwarts letter never arrived and partly because it was a really beautiful film with amazing effects. Earlier I showed you the original screenplay but today I am going to show you something even better; the amazing book A Case of Beasts.

Fantastic Beasts: behind the scenes

The book takes you behind the scenes of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and is a beautifully designed book that takes you right back into the magic. The book is designed by MinaLima, who also designed a ton of props for the Harry Potter films and FB. This makes this book a must-have for collectors or basically anyone who can appreciate a well-designed book filled with gorgeous artwork.

The book consists of different chapters. Every significant character has his or her own chapter in which they describe everything you need to know about that character. There are great photos from behind the scenes and it really gives you an idea how the magic was made. I also thought it was interesting to learn more about these characters. Harry Potter was a book series so its characters were already familiar before the movies were made. Fantastic Beasts was completely new, so it is great to have a book like this to learn more.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the fact that some parts of the book were interactive. You could pull out posters or look at Tina’s ID card, just to mention a few things. It is a nice touch and makes the book and the movie almost come alive.

Needless to say, I am very impressed with this book. I already predict that I will be lost in its pages for quite a few hours. If you want to go back to the magic as well, this book is now available at most book stores.
