Stranger Things Season 2

Stranger Things Season 2 announced for Halloween

Halloween 2017 just got spookier, scarier and most of all: stranger. Thanks to the Super Bowl ad we learned the release date of Stranger Things season 2! It’s October 31st, aka Halloween. Just a little less than eight monts of anticipation await us. What will season two bring us?

First of all, let’s look back at the first season of Stranger Things. Be aware, but obvious spoilers are ahead in the rest of this piece.

Stranger Things gave us the amazing teens Mike, Lucas, and Dustin who team up when their fourth friend, Will Byers, goes missing. They meet up with the, well, strange, Eleven: a young girl with inexplainable powers. There is more than meets the eye and the teens had to face worse things then they could ever imagine happening. Be sure to read our full review of Stranger Things.

End of Stranger Things season 1

Stranger Things Season 2At the end of the first season, the show left us with some good things, some bad things and some major questions.

The good: Will is back and reunited with his mother and brother. His three friends all make it out alive. Dungeons & Dragons is played once again.
The bad: Eleven gave her life to save everyone. The institute that ‘created’ her still excists. Barb died. Nancy and Steve are an item.
The big questions: is Eleven really gone? Where did she go? What does Chief Hopper know? And what is wrong with Will (he threw up that creepy slug-like thing, remember)?

What will Stranger Things season 2 bring us?

Hopefully for starters answers to all above questions. Producer/Director Shawn Levy said in an interview with Collider last november:

I’m not gonna say how much time has gone by. It is not the next day, I’ll say that. And there are several new characters who I think several of them are going to be new fan-favorites because they’re great, great new characters. But we are definitely sticking primarily with our core group, and what is different, how are they changed from the experience of last season… maybe ‘normal’ is never possible again.

It’s good to know the focus will be on the characters we know and love (I’m looking at you Dustin). I’m definitely curious who these new fan-favorites will be, when there are so many amazing characters already. We do know that Sadie Sink was cast as a tough and confident teenage girl. More girl power, yay! Dacre Montgomery will play Sadie’s brother Billy. But anticipated the most is without a doubt Sean Astin, who is cast as a former nerd and classmate to Joyce and Jim. And, he will be Joyce’s boyfriend!

Stranger Things Season 2‘The world is turning upside down’, according to the teaser for the second season. We see Eleven (of course she’s not dead, it would be crazy to make more episodes without the talented Millie Bobby Brown), the gang, and a lot of unexplainable stuff. A creepy drawing, a hellish landscape behind a door and a scary monster. Maybe the best part is the boys dressing up as the Ghostbusters. With just 36 seconds, the teaser doesn’t give away anything and just makes me wish it was Halloween.

Stranger Things Season 2 Episode Titles

  • MadMax
  • The Boy Who Came Back To Life
  • The Pumpkin Patch
  • The Palace
  • The Storm
  • The Pollywog
  • The Secret Cabin
  • The Brain
  • The Lost Brother

We can only guess what these mean. Is Will the boy from episode 2? What is this palace? And what in hell is a Pollywog? The Brain also sounds interesting, but can mean anything. There are a lot of people with brothers in Stranger Things, so the final episode of season 2 could be about a lot of people.
