I choose to be happy #2: Daniel

positive

“Why do you choose to be happy?” I asked.

He thought about it for a moment. A few seconds before he had still denied being happy at all, but I insisted there had to be something that made him happy. “I want to have a positive influence on people,” he finally answered.

I agree. Happiness is contagious. You smile at somebody and nine out of ten times, you get a smile back. We have more effect on the world around us than we give ourselves credit for. We shape the lives of others as parents and as teachers, but also as friends and strangers. That makes us far more powerful than all the darkness around us. As long as we let ourselves be more powerful.
