The Best Pop Culture Parody Songs

One of the great things about pop culture is the fact that it can inspire creativity in its fans. Ever since the rise of YouTube, we have been treated to endless creativity of creators who took their favourite films or shows and made hilarious parodies. One of my favourite parodies are those that use songs. Often they mix different fandoms, which is even better for pop enthousiasts who adore more than one franchise. Today we want to show you some of our favourite parody songs. Hope you will enjoy!

1. Umbridge’s Poor Unfortunate Souls

Professor Umbridge is the most hated character in the Harry Potter franchise. Even more so than Voldemort. That is quite a feat. At the same time, Ursula is arguably one of the best Disney villains of all time. Her theme song and Umbridge’s personality match very well in this excellent parody.

2. Todrick Hall’s Beauty and the Beasts songs

There are two of these that I would like to highlight. Of course, Todrick Hall had to be on the list. He made two versions of the song Belle from Beauty and the Beast. One involves Belle in a town filled with gays and the other is Belle as a white girl in a black hood. Both are amazing! YAS!

3. Suicide Squad – The Hillywood Show

4. Deadpool the Musical – Gaston

This one actually really got the Deadpool spirit. Plus the guy who plays Deadpool sounds quite a lot like Ryan Reynolds. This is probably one of my favourites.

5. SEAGULLS! – Bad Lip Reading

While it is not a parody like the others on this list, I did have to laugh a lot while watching this. Who knew Yoda could sing so well? And who knew he had such an aversion to seagulls. This one is really well done.

6. Harry Potter in the Hood

This one is on the list because it is my first memory of pop culture parody songs. It was released in 2007, which was just a year after Youtube was founded. It’s still really good after all those years. The references might be a little old, but hey so are we by now.
