Music Monday: The best songs of 2015

The year is almost at an end! Huzzah! That means that we all get super emotional and look back at the fantastic year that we’ve had so far. From 2016 on, Monday will be Music Monday on the Sassologist and I will share everything from music that I like to what it is like being a fan and concert reviews etc. I want to start Music Monday today with a blog about the best music from 2015, in my humble opinion. Note that I am a pop girl at heart so this list will mostly consist of pop songs. I am super predictable when it comes to that.

So let’s take a look at the list that I have compiled for you.

Ghost Town – Adam Lambert

I adore this song for many different reasons. First of all, it’s Adam Lambert and he is amazing. Secondly, I adore the moment it goes from the guitar intro to the electronic part. I always get my groove on. Even though I have no groove. See, it is that amazing.

When We Were Young – Adele

Of course, Hello is an amazing song. I still walk into rooms shouting HELLO IT’S ME! But I personally think that When We Were Young is a better song. But to be fair, Adele was the Queen of 2015 and her album is fantastic. And I am going to see her live next year! Woohoo.

Oh Girl You’re The Devil – Mika

I still don’t get why this wasn’t a single. I love this song with all of my heart. That sounds dramatic but whenever I am in my car and this song comes on, I turn the volume up and sing along like a mad woman. People look at me with raised eyebrows. I can see them wondering if I have a seizure, but I swear I do not. Also, this song reminds me of great roadtrips.

Promiseland – Mika

Why was this a bonus track? I am still sad about that fact. This song is the best.

What Do You Mean – Justin Bieber

Ever since I heard this song, I’ve been constantly singing WHAT DO YOU MEAN? Whenever somebody tells a story or asks a question. 2015 was the year of not being afraid to admit you like the Biebs. Suddenly everybody admitted that they were truly Beliebers. No surprise as his latest album is actually very good.

Worth It – Fifth Harmony

This song was constantly on the radio when I drove to Disneyland Paris. It’s become my 2015 Guilty Pleasure Jam. Baby I’m Worth It. Aha I’m Worth It!

I can’t feel my face – The Weeknd

It is still a weird song. I mean, why the hell can’t he feel his face when he is with someone? Is she sitting on him? Anyway, I liked singing along to this on long car drives home.

Bitch better have my money – Rihanna

It is not the best song, but admit it, who didn’t open their banking app shouting “Bitch better have my money!” when checking their balance. I know I did.

This is my list for 2015. Of course there are a million of great songs that I have not put on the list for whatever reason.

What do you think of these songs? And what is your favourite song of 2015?

Ingrid is the twenty-something owner of The Sassologist, who loves everything that has to do with pop culture. While she is one of many who is in the process of writing a novel, she is also currently in denial over not being a witch. Her Hogwarts letter has yet to arrive. In the meantime she writes about pop culture and dreams about unicorns.

Hello!! I like this new music monday! I think it could be something big if properly done 😀

From that list i guess we are 50% compatible music regarding, i laughed a lot at the “why the hell he can’t feel his face?” Hahahahahaha but i don’t like that song, at all 🙁 loved the joke tho.

I would have loved the article a bit more if it were a top 10, maybe it’s bc you are not that basic hehe but a top ten pf pop music (from your perspective, of course) would have been interesting.

And yeah, if someone says they didn’t scream “bitch better have my money!!!”, when talking about whatever money related, they are liars!!

Keep it up Ingie!! I’m so looking forward to this new music related stuff and concerts reviews and fan live and all, sounds really cool! I am a pop man too hahaha so i feel related and i love going to concerts and shows 😀

    Xoxo
